I love these printers

I know they are older and discontinued. However, for a low to mid volume printer, these things are workhorses. They happily take double their rated volume and work without fail. Unfortunately, they are getting harder and harder to find. They are also not easy to work on beyond replacing some basic parts. Luckily, they very rarely fail.
Please note you are buying a used or refurbished printer here. There is a difference between used and refurbished. If you don't know what that is go buy an actual new printer.
I have 15 of these running throughout our office. We have been using these printers for over 7 years. I have found that non-HP toners work okay but for the best results you should use an OEM toner. Stay away from Innovera cartridges. They will do nothing but dump toner in these machines.
The best new replacement I have found for these is the HP M401. I still prefer the HP 1300N as I feel they are made better than the newer ones.
I will keep buying these as long as I can find good refurbed units.

Very Reliable Network Printer

Have used these professionally in business manufacturing environment as well as currently in my home office. This is a very fast, quiet and reliable black & white laser printer. Easily networkable using a PC as a print server or using a dedicated print server directly through a router (just assign a dedicated IP address and let it rip).
Accessories are inexpensive and readily available from Amazon, eBay and other online sources. The 1300N prints almost three times as fast as my full color Xerox Phaser 6100.
I recently added a Genuine HP 250 sheet bottom feed paper tray and a Genuine HP replacement laser cartridge for less than $15.00 each.
As long as these are available, there is absolutely no need, nor benefit from purchasing a newer, more expensive model.

We have used this particular printer for several years. The print quality is pretty good and the speed is very good. I had two toners that had been opened by mistake that were unused so rather than upgrade I chose to buy this older model. These older model HP's I think are better made than the newer ones anyway.
