I've Moved

Yes, I am moving to Phoenix in just two short months. Gulp. But the blog has had a move of its own.

You can now visit me, my ramblings, and pictures of my really cute kids over at Ze Petite Mama.

Enjoy!

BabyBlog Names

Picking out a baby name is probably more fun, but I need a new blog name. One lesson that I have learned over the last two months is that it is not necessarily smart to name your blog something (and have the web address be the same thing) that is location specific. Some of my friends have learned lately that naming your blog with the size of your family when you plan on growing that size is also not a great idea. We are all learning things up here.

So basically I need ideas of a new blog name that does not include our last name since I want to keep some small semblance of privacy. It would be easy to change it to Little Townhouse on the Desert, but then what happens if we move again. Do you see my dilemma?

There you have it. Give me some cute ideas that encompass the feel of my blog and writing style while remaining timeless at the same time. No problem, right?

Now get to work!

Squawking

Savannah squawks a lot. A lot, a lot. It is her go to noise ever since she has reached the stage of understanding most of what we say but having little to no verbal language skills of her own. She refuses to learn baby sign. I know she could do it, but instead she squawks and since that noise is so annoying, I give her what she wants. I know, I know that is not going to teach her baby sign, but you have no idea how annoying her noise is. In fact, she is making it right now.

Most of the time she is fine when she is making this noise. She is either mad at Micah for taking something from her, frustrated that she can't reach something, or asking for more food. So yesterday when she was squawking up a storm behind me while I cooked dinner, I ignored her. I just knew that she was insisting that I pick her up, and since I was busy cutting raw chicken into pieces, that was not going to happen.

So she squawked and I cut. I kept saying, "Savannah, you're fine. You're fine," in a very soothing voice while I cut away. Once I was finally done I turned around to see what all the fuss was about and saw this . . .

Yes, that is one of our bottom cabinets. And yes, I did grab the camera (that was sitting right there on the counter) and snapped a picture before rescuing her. Maybe I shouldn't always ignore the squawking.

Two of a Kind

Me (Erica) at about 13 months old. Check out that rockin' outfit. Do you think I could pull that off today? I don't think I have the body confidence that I did at that age. :-)

And Savannah at 13 months old.

A development that happened since this picture was taken: the shirt is no longer as she spilled red nail polish all over it. How did she get red nail polish on her? Well, I thought she wouldn't be able to get the cover off, so while I was getting dressed I let her play with it. She proved me wrong. I'm just glad her shirt took the brunt of it, and not our carpet!

Belated

With all of our computer troubles I almost forgot that someone had a milestone birthday just . . . ummm . . . 43 days ago. So here she is in all her cake eating glory.

Gotta have some milk with that cake!
Yummy!
Savannah's cousin, Aubrey, came to visit and celebrate her birthday with her.

Opening presents. Seriously, she LOVES this book so if you are looking for a present for a one year old, I would recommend it.

And this has nothing to do with Savannah, but I just think this picture is so cute. They love each other so much. Melt my little heart.

That's The Book for Me

Oh, and in case you can't tell, Micah is being a scary dinosaur in the beginning of this video.

Still Here

I am still here, but between a nasty computer virus that disabled my computer for over a week and our cable modem dying and giving me very sporadic internet access I have not been online very much in the past two weeks. The computer is fixed and here's to hoping the cable modem is soon to follow.

In the meantime . . . (courtesy of Photography by Nealy)
