We used to have the version with only one roll but upgraded to the double roll so we wouldn't waste so much paper when printing out 30" x 42" blueprints. No complaints so far. The machine works great and we use it everyday.

Not really what I expected

Purchased this plotter an year ago to replace our old OCE TSC500 which started giving us a lot of headache. Plotter setup was easy and print quality is very good, but the rest of it is not that great as described: it's noisy, it's slow, replacing the roll or changing media takes a while (not even saying that it has to be oriented correctly on the drive shaft - changing rolls on the old OCE was much faster and easier), if roll runs out of paper it takes about 3 minutes for the plotter to realize that there is no paper, it likes to start doing maintenance when you need an urgent print and maintenance actions take like 40 minutes (why it cannot give me a warning that it needs maintenance so I can take care of it when it's idling??) I'm not mentioning that ridiculous "hammock" that catches your prints - it has to be manually opened every time you print something and it takes some space when open in our office which is not really big - OCE had wire frame underneath and it was way more elegant solution! IMHO this Canon plotter is not that cheap to have such shortcomings.
