Nice Printer
By Joseph Costa
I've only had the printer one month, but I like it so far. Love the wireless capability, Print speed is fast and scanner is excellant. Only rated four stars because I wasn't able to set up the Fax to work. Instructions make a point of having you use the provided cable, but when you use it in the correct connection the printer says it's not plugged in properly. I haven't found the need to retry since I can scan to computer then email. Only other negative is the catch tray for copies needs to be longer to keep copies from falling on the floor.

OK printer - nightmare to install!
By Arthur Yee
Not sure what went south - but tried to install HP Photosmart 7525 e-All-in-One Printer on a Windows 7 machine (using the CD)
Tried to follow the pretty sparse instructions - and the following basic steps we took:
1) Powered up the printer - and it worked
2) Turned on the Wireless - and it connected to the wireless/modem/router (AT*T Netgear)
3) Started the CD install - and it could not find the printer! Searched by IP (as printed out by the printer), and printer name. No go.
4) Power cycled the printer, wireless/modem/router - now printer will not connect to wireless router!
5) Computer/modem/router could not connect to internet!
At this point, we had to hard reset the Netgear and log back in to AT&T (even had problems - AT&T had to do some magic to recognize the modem again...)
Once we got our internet back up - decided it would be a very bad idea to try wireless mode of connection, we turned off the wireless feature on the HP Photosmart 7525 e-All-in-One Printer and started a USB connection install.
6) Installed USB mode - and it worked (took a few minutes) on account #1.
7) Tested the printer in the second account on the printer - and discovered the preferred mode is FAX vs Printer! Had to reset the default preferences. Got it to work on the second account -
Sounds easy? Well, on this particular computer with Windows 7 - it took over 5 hours with 2 calls to AT&T to get the router reconfigured, and some right clicks (no pull down menus) to get it into a USEFUL default mode.
Poor end user installation implementation (BTW - I do have a few years of IT experience...)!

I love this . First , it's wireless which I've wanted for some time. The all in one functions and apps for printing things such as coloring pages for kids , are great. I especially like that you can send something to your printer via your phone with a downloaded app. Just love this thing.
