5nice little printer
By Eddie Milligan
This printer came with the apple computer I bought. It worked fine except for the wireless part of it. A call to HP support and with some help from a very nice tech by the name of Leah, the problem was resolved. When I hooked the printer up myself per the instructions with my AirPort Extreme (my router) , the computer did not recognize it. I had the USB cable going from the printer to the router.I thought that since my computer was working fine with the router that it only made since to hook the printer up to the router until the printer was working wirelessly. WRONG. Leah, the tech from HP said that the USB cable must go directly from the printer to the computer. That resolved the problem. I then removed the USB cable and can now print wirelessly. I spent several days trying to figure this out. I hope that this will help someone else with the same printer problem.

1OK.... When it works....
By C. Brown
Received this printer with one of those rebates with my new mac and it has given me nothing but trouble and grievances. It took me long enough to install a driver for OS Lion that even connected to the computer, and it just plain does not like to work on its wireless settings. It either does not connect to the computer, either when I try to connect with computer commands or using the on printer buttons, and if it does manage to connect to the computer print jobs will sit for about an hour before pushed through or will simply get stuck halfway through "sending info to printer". I try to use the HP Utilities and it doesn't recognize ink cartridges are installed and i can't use any of the commands such as "clean printheads" or "test print" because it just can't connect to the device. It shows that is connected but just doesn't actually communicate with it. The Utility on the computer says "Supply status is shown below" but no image appears. The color copy comes out with lines and extremely high contrast, blown colors, and blur. And pressing the HP Support button brings me to a "Page Not Found" error online. My older HP all in one from about 5 years ago works better than this. Absolutely 100% disappointed.

1jam jam jam
By C. Henry
This was heavily encouraged on me by Apple when I bought my macbook pro. It cost $100 with a total rebate. I managed to print out from it about twice, a single sheet each time. Third time, I was told it had a paper jam when it did not. I can't get it to stop telling me it has a paper jam. The paper bail or whatever you call the part that holds the paper, make the paper go in on an angle--so the darn thing is really worthless. I called HP and did everything they advised--no luck. And of course Apple doesn't service the thing, only encourage you to buy it. So, I'm getting rid of this one and finding something of good quality--SOMEwhere. All printers now seem to be on the same business model as men's razors--you get the basic unit for very cheap, and the replacements, in this case, ink, are expensive and run out quickly. With razors, the replacements cost an arm and a leg. Anyway, if I were you I'd give this a miss.
