user friendly!

This is the best printer in the world! As a handicapped student, I am always looking for the most user-friendly gadgets for my needs as a college student. Compared to the bigger, more advanced printers on campus this printer is a breeze to use. Everything on this is very simple to use; I can scan on my own as well as replace ink cartridges on my own! Whereas with other printers, these tasks would require me to get assistance. As a handicapped person coming across such ingenious and useful gadgets like this one always makes me feel more autonomous and puts a smile on my face.

Product arrived quickly (first day of estimated delivery). Double boxed for protection. Easy to set up and install software. Up and running within 15 minutes. Low ink usage (and good prices on cartridges). Great quality prints, copies, document scans and faxes. Perfect for SOHO.

How Refreshing

I started to purchase this printer from Amazon but after checking the Brother mall web site, not only was the printer price lower but Brother was offering a $40.00 instant rebate. How refreshing it is to see four other reviewers here on Amazon who seem to be very happy with this printer. I had read other reviews and they were off the charts with mostly negative reports. Once I received this printer, setup was straight forward and recognized my wireless network right away. This printer was online without exaggeration, from unpacking to printing in maybe 15 minutes. This is my second Brother printer, complementing a mono laser model. I find this printer to be extremely quiet, despite other reviews claiming extreme noise, poor paper handling, ink hog, on and on. I haven't found one single thing I'm annoyed with in the least. Granted, this model has been replaced with a newer one but that's the nature of technology, always evolving at a lighting pace yet giving customers many choices. One thing I find if only for convenience is the addition of another paper tray for heavy matte paper. At present, the additional tray is out of stock but will definitely order once it's restocked.

replacement ink won't bankrupt the owner
Status monitor provides volume ink level remaining
