A bit overkill perhaps

I purchased this printer as a gift for our family for Christmas. We have not owned a printer in 8 years but instead depended on printing at work or emailing documents or taking pictures to Walgreens or Walmart for printing.
After owning several inkjet printers in schools and always being frustrated at the tremendous waste in the cartridges clogging and drying out due to very intermittent use and having to be replaced at great expense this printer has seemed to make a good compromise.
It is perhaps a bit overkill for home use, but it integrated like a charm in our combination wired and wireless home network using both Windows and OS X machines. And we love the duplexing.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a durable and convenient home network printer.

Excellent but Be Warned

I have owned this printer for over a year. It produces excellent and professional looking copies. I have received numerous compliments on the brochures and pieces printed by it. On the negative side, its reproduction of pictures in the enhanced photo mode often causes jams, especially when using photo laser paper. However, again once copied the finished product is very good. However, be warned that the replace ink cubes are outrageously expensive. I discovered this quickly as I needed to purchase new cubes after less than 1000 copies. As I shopped around for the best price, I was able to purchase a complete dual set of cubes for close to $500. They cost more than the printer. On these cubes I am running about 1500 per cube. As I check prices out now, you are lucky to find a complete set at less than $550. In hind site, though I love the quality of the reproductions and the eco-friendly factor, I would not purchase it. If Xerox could find a way to produce the ink at a more reasonable price, than I would highly recommend this product. But not now!

Had to send back, my ITT guy suspected it was refurbished printer (that didn't work) - it would not fully power on or print anything
