I am considering (early stages) doing two things that are really a blast from the past. One to me and one to my house. Ben is unaware of either of these little thought trains in my head, so we'll see how much he reads this blog based on whether or not this comes up.
The first is I am considering getting a perm. I know. I know. Perms are getting into '80's/'90's territory and I haven't had a perm since the 5th grade. But (and this is what I am telling myself) perms are not what they used to be. I am not thinking of going spiral or anything, but I would like a really lose wave. Something like this
Not like this
The second thing involves my house. Wallpaper. Now I know that plenty of people still use wallpaper, but not really people that I know. I'm not thinking some traditional floral pattern or a border of roosters in my kitchen (sorry if you like that thing). I am thinking something really cool from the collections you can get now that basically go up and down like contact paper (no mess, no fuss) in our stairwell on the crazy 20 foot tall wall we have. I just think it would be kind of fun, a little unexpected, and could liven the space up. Something a little like this

Although I just discovered that this is discontinued. Boo. But there have to be similar items out there. Now that this bee has entered my bonnet, I can't seem to let it go. Every time I go up and down the stairs (which is quite often), I picture it and give a little sigh. I'm not really sure how one hangs wallpaper on a 20 foot high wall, but those details are better left to others. I'm more of a big picture gal, after all.
So what do you think? Am I crazy?

you probably didn't know that i have a perm, its supposed to be a not too tight one (like the pic) but they can't really do that. my hair is super full and curly, so i always have to put back the top of it. but perms are super cute and coming back in. :) love the wallpaper!
That wallpaper is so very Erica! Love it. I had a perm in college, so I could get a little wave. It's nice to have the option to go straight or curly, but not have to spend time with your curling iron. :)
I love both!
Love, love, love the wallpaper! I'm a bit of an HGTV buff these days, and wallpaper is definitely back in. If we ever have a house, I'm jumping on the bandwagon.
As for the perm...I can't get past the nightmare of my high school perm. I hope you have a better hair stylist than I did! The picture is great, so if perms can do that, then I say go for it!
